According to an article on education.com "Play is the foundation for all learning for young children, and giving your child the time and a few basic toys can provide her with a variety of valuable learning opportunities."
Engaging with toys, creative play, singing and dancing with friends provides opportunity for vocabulary to grow. Kids will hear and gain language without even realizing it as well as learn to communicate meaning!
In today's "everything in an instant" world, kids have fewer opportunities to develop their own sense of creativity. Those who do are more likely to be able to entertain themselves through creative and imaginary play. Once that imagination gets going - the possibilities are endless!
Working those fine and gross motor skills in games, activities and yes--even dancing--cover a wide range of development. While fine motor muscles control the hands for tasks like drawing and writing, large motor muscles develop the legs and arms for walking, running, jumping, lifting and balance.
Giving kids the opportunity to dig in and flex those muscles in their creative play makes for happy and healthy minds and bodies! Our Mini Poppers class for Boys and Girls and our NEW Tuff and Tumble All-Boys class are the perfect places to move, play and be creative. Miss Amy: I love teaching kids and watching that "A-ha!" moment happen when all the dots connect and the light bulb goes on! There's nothing better!
