Think back. When finding the right color tu-tu was the biggest problem of your day. Making sure your tiara and fairy wings weren't bent and that your magic wand wasn't missing. Those were the days! The joy of imagination. Creating hours of play with friends and a box of dress up accessories. It doesn't get better than that!
Although we grown-ups may have to save our tu-tu wearing for Halloween and costume parties (you better believe I have my favorite tu-tu ready at all times!) it doesn't stop us from reminiscing about the good old days and wishing we could go back in time once in a while.
Creating magical adventures while encouraging independence is what we do every day in our Princess Ballerinas Classes at Jeanne's! Ballet class has never been more engaging until you've been on a Fairy Garden Adventure, danced your way through a Royal Ball and leaped around the Bake Shop cooking up fantastic dances with your friends.
See why this is NOT your ordinary pre-ballet class. Click HERE to learn about Princess Ballerinas at Jeanne's. I'm not sure who loves this class more - the dancers or teachers! It's really that amazing!
Tu-tus are not required but they do add some fun!

While growing up dancing at Jeanne’s, I danced in a lot of different classes. Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Funky Jazz (yes, stop laughing), drill team, tumbling and technique. While I learned so much more than dance steps and technique, I’ve been thinking of the things that dance taught me not to take for granted. (Enjoy the blast from the past in photo history. I left out the Funky Jazz picture - had to maintain a shred of dignity from the 80's!)
We'd love to hear the things you've learned from dancing at Jeanne's! Feel free to share thoughts, memories and embarrassing pictures too!

Some of my favorite classes to teach and hear about are the babies. They are so energetic, can’t wait to get to class, want to tell you EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING and love to dance with their friends. Dance class is one of the first opportunities many little ones have to make new friends, listen to a teacher, wait their turn and follow directions. It’s a lot for those little bodies to learn and remember!
The most amazing part is watching it unfold throughout the year. They start off not knowing what a “spot” is let alone being willing to stand on it for more than a minute. But we practice, and practice and practice and soon standing on their spot is not so hard! And while they’ve been discovering personal space by staying on their spot, they’ve also been introduced to listening to a teacher and following directions – two more things that 2 and 3 year olds are not stellar at – yet. Lol. But just like they learn how to stay on that blessed spot on the floor, they become so engaged with the teacher that listening and following directions becomes a piece of cake! And everything starts to jump into place.
It doesn’t happen over night. It’s baby steps – literally! But it does happen and it’s the best thing you can do for your toddler or pre-schooler. Give them the chance to learn how to learn, how to make mistakes and fix them and how to be proud of accomplishing their best!
We just love those little ones to pieces and can’t wait to start their journey with them!

Miss Amy: I love teaching kids and watching that "A-ha!" moment happen when all the dots connect and the light bulb goes on! There's nothing better!
