Believe & Achieve.
That’s the motto at my kids elementary school. I like it because it blends so nicely having confidence in yourself with working hard to achieve your goals. It reminds of the quote by Walt Disney: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” I love how both of those inspire us all to reach, challenge and dream but most importantly act! So I thought “How crazy would it be to combine those ideas?” By mixing those two thoughts together you get Believe, Achieve, Dream and Do. I think I love this new phrase! Our dance studio kids are everything to us. We want them to Believe, Achieve, Dream and Do! By helping dancers set goals and make a plan to achieve them, they are able to see how possible it is to achieve anything your heart dreams. You just have to put the action into place and “eat the elephant” one bite at a time! We would love to show your dancer how to Believe, Achieve, Dream and Do! Want more info? Take a baseball game. If you don't have all players on board, knowing the plays, signals and listening to the coach they won't have a cohesive performance and successful game. Are all my sports fan friends with me?
It takes commitment, working together and knowing you can count on the other players to make up a successful team. Our Performance Teams for Dance and Musical Theatre are no different. We don't throw touchdowns or slide into home but we work as a team exactly the same. Think about it. A teacher (coach) needs all the dancers (players) attending every class/rehearsal (practice) so they can sharpen their skills and technique, learn choreography (strategy plays), understand formations (field/court positions) and grow as a unit. Aren't these all components of a sports team? When one player is absent it affects the whole team's practice. At Jeanne's, we teach, encourage and support a teamwork environment in all our classes. This gives kids of all ages the opportunity to begin developing these skills that will make them successful team players forever! People ask all the time, "Why is Jeanne's different from other studios? What are you guys all about?" The answer is simple: in a nutshell we're all about teaching valuable life skills using dance and performing arts as our tools.
For over 50 years, Jeanne's School of dance has been inspiring budding dancers and performers. Our dedicated family of teachers and staff are absolutely committed to:
This was Jeanne Wright's vision over 50 years ago. Since then Jeanne's School of Dance has turned out elementary school teachers, singers, entertainers, marketing experts, corporate event planners, stay home moms, professional dancers, choreographers, costume designers, entrepreneurs and much more. You see, when you come to Jeanne's you learn you really can be and do anything you want! --Miss Amy :) Moms always ask us "How can I know if my daughter is ready for dance class?" Most little dancing princesses show signs of readiness around age 2-3 but all budding dancers are different! Here are some sure signs your cutie pie is ready for Dance Class:
While all of the above is true, you might find yourself with a pre-schooler who may need reassurance in one or more of those areas. In most cases, they've never (or rarely) had the opportunity to be in a class type situation where listening, waiting their turn and following directions is necessary. One mom who recently enrolled her 3 year old in our Princess Ballerinas Class remarked how much better her daughter follows directions and she can't wait for dance class every week! Our #1 priority is making your dancer feel comfortable from the minute they walk in the door. Compassion, support, praise and stickers at the end of class are all part of the Jeanne's School of Dance Experience! Just as little ones need a boost of confidence now and then, so do Mom and Dad when dropping their cutie pie off for their first class away from parents or family! Support and understanding is not limited to the kiddos. Any questions, special concerns or considerations you feel we should know are always welcome. Our goal is to make you and your dancer right at home at Jeanne's! Wondering how to get started picking a class? CLICK HERE and we'll take you a long step by step. Easy Breezy is what we're all about! --Miss Amy :) |
