Excellence, setting goals, working hard, achieving your dreams. We want all that and more for you at Jeanne's. That's why this month our Value Focus is #excellence. Excellence comes at home with your family, at school in academics, and in the dance studio too. Striving for #excellence is what we hope to inspire in every dancer; to do their best while always striving for ways to improve. True #excellence never stops because we are all constantly learning and growing.
Here's 5 things you can do at home to bring out your #excellence at the dance studio!
Eat Healthy. Your body needs fuel to keep it moving. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet will keep your body happy, healthy and dancing for a long time!
Sleep. Get plenty of sleep. Growing bodies need extra sleep. We know you get super excited to come to dance class everyday – but getting the sleep you need to perform your best at school, at home and in the studio is super important. No one wants to fall asleep at the ballet barre!
Stretch. Stretching at home can help you relax and improve your flexibility so you’re always progressing – even when you’re not in the dance room!
Practice. Ask your teacher if you can take a video of a warm up exercise or technique skill you’re having trouble with and then practice at home! (Hint – teachers LOVE to hear that dancers are motivated to practice and improve all by themselves!)
Thank your Mom and Dad! Be sure to say thanks to the people who bring you to class every week! They love you a lot and are willing to spend a lot of time in the car so you can be where you want to be. And a Thank You always goes a long way!

Miss Amy: I love teaching kids and watching that "A-ha!" moment happen when all the dots connect and the light bulb goes on! There's nothing better!
